The registration period is now open for the 8th edition of the VIArtes Public Art Competition, which challenges artists to create a work of art for the emblematic façade of the ViaCatarina Shopping Centre.
VIArtes 2024 is aimed at artists, especially plastic and/or digital artists, designers, sculptors and architects, among others, both Portuguese and foreign.
The VIArtes Competition is integrated into the Public Art Policy of ViaCatarina- SIC Imobiliária Fechada, S.A., the goal of which is to promote synergies between ViaCatarina Shopping Centre and the community of artists who intend to disseminate their creativity and skills, particularly in the field of Public Art.

The application period is open until 30 January 2025.
Before submitting your application, ensure you have all the documents listed below:
- Graphic elements/drawings that provide a 2D and 3D view of the façade, including representative images of the project and technical specifications;
- A Descriptive Document in PDF format;
- A Letter of Application describing the project and the artist’s intent, in PDF format;
- A Video Presentation of the project, with a maximum duration of 3 minutes (in MP4 format);
- Drawing of the Front and Side Elevations of ViaCatarina Shopping with the proposed project (in PDF and DWG formats);
- A complete and detailed budget for the implementation of the work on the façade of ViaCatarina Shopping, along with the names and contact details of the potential supplier companies;
- Work insurance (covering the installation period of the work on the façade) and the artist’s fee, in PDF format.
Additional documents for Group/Legal Entity applications:
- A statement issued and signed by the co-authors of the application, proving the legitimacy of the representative for the group;
- Part III of the contest regulations, signed by all members of the application.
Additional documents for construction projects (Note: any element that needs to be affixed to the façade is considered a construction project):
- A Statement of Responsibility for the project issued by a Certified Engineer;
- Consent for the engineer’s data processing (available here).
